Terrell Owens won't play again this season. Pete Rose Jr. pleaded guilty to selling a steroid alternative to his minor league teammates. Former Washington Redskins star Timmy Smith pleaded not guilty to cocaine possession charges. Two Carolina Panthers cheerleaders were charged after being arrested for allegedly having sex in the bathroom of a bar.
Last season, Eli Manning refused to play for a team that had every right to draft him. Latrell Sprewell said that his multi-million dollar salary was not enough to "feed his family." Ron Artest asked his team for time off to promote a CD, then got suspended for the rest of the season for his role in the "Malice at the Palace."
The Chicago White Sox threw the 1919 World Series in the "Black Sox" scandal. Pete Rose was banished from baseball. Wilt Chamberlain said he had sex with 20,000 women.
